Founder, CEO at Surge AI

Edwin Chen

I'm the founder and CEO of Surge AI.
‍
Surge is a kind of university for AGI. Our faculty are lawyers, mathematicians, novelists, and engineers, teaching the judgment their fields took decades to build. Our exams are benchmarks the best models still fail, testing whether they can do the work that runs the world. Our research digs into what models actually learn, so we can raise AGI right.
‍
We've stayed independent, with no outside funding, because it lets us prioritize research and rigor over theater and hype.
‍
Before Surge, I was a research scientist at Google, Facebook, and Twitter, and studied math, CS, and linguistics at MIT.
